Friday the 13th: Part 3 (1982)

Jason is back at it, in 3D this time!

We continue our story with Jason deciding to take a little field trip away from Crystal Lake to go visit Higgens Haven, a private camp down the way. But first, he decides to stop at the local country store for a change of clothes and a couple of quick kills.

As he continues on his way, he encounters yet another group of teenagers who have already set up camp at the Higgen's lot and decides he needs to do what he does best.

The basis of part three is pretty much the same as the first two with the added exception of the 3D element and the group of gang banger's that are basically there to give us a reason to cheer on the killer.

As odd as this movie may seem, the writing was a huge improvement from the second film as was the acting for the most part.

No matter what you think of this movie, it has one of the most important scenes in not only the franchises history, but the genre's history as well. This would be Jason's acquisition of the famous hockey mask that is now his trademark look.

Speaking of the acquisition of the mask, the kill immediately following is hands down, my favorite in the entire franchise! And with that being said and the importance of this film to the series, I give it an easy 7.5 out of 10.

Had it not been for the mask and my favorite kill, I could have simply given this one a much lower rating without hesitation
