Child's Play (1988)

Charles Lee Ray is on the run from the law and they are closing in on him.

Ray gets shot and run into a toy store in order to gain some cover.Ray happens to have an amulet that allows it's user to transfer their soul to another human or object.

As there is nobody around, Ray is forced to send his soul into one of the "Good Guy" dolls on display at the store. Thanks to this, the doll has now come to life and is ready to get back out into the world to find a suitable replacement for his body. Preferably that of a young boy named Andy's, the dolls new owner.

This movie never seems to get old to me as, in my opinion, still holds up to today's standards.
There are several awesome scenes in the movie, such as the car scene where Chucky tries to kill the cop while he is driving around. As well as the voodoo scene in where Chucky confronts the man who taught him how to send his soul to different beings, about the possibility of staying stuck as a doll for the rest of eternity.

The kill scenes are awesome and seeing a doll running around the house holding a knife has always creeped me the hell out. It just looks so evil and weird!

In closing, I have to give this movie an 8 out of 10. Again, I think this movie still holds up on its own to this day due to it's originality and the amazing special effects for it's time that were used in most of the scenes.

Next up I will be reviewing the sequel to this classic!
